Gold and Diamond Jewelers, however, shattered that expectation with a customer service experience so appalling, it left us questioning how they even stay in business.

The story begins with a sentimental watch that needed some TLC—a cleaning and repair for a piece that, while not flashy, carried immense personal value. But instead of being met with care or even basic courtesy, the first smarmy remark from their so-called “service expert” was: “Why don’t you just go on Amazon and buy a new one?”

Excuse me? Who knew this individual was qualified to pass judgment on the sentimental value of a watch—or any item, for that matter? The dismissive tone, the condescending attitude, and the outright refusal to even consider the request were beyond unprofessional—they were downright insulting.

And it didn’t stop there. With the disdain of someone who seemed to resent having customers at all, he quoted a bloated repair price of $300—a number that far exceeded the $100–$150 quoted by two other reputable jewelers in the area. But it wasn’t the price that stung the most—it was the attitude. This wasn’t a negotiation or a conversation. It was a flat-out “no”—no to the repair, no to earning my business, and no to common decency.

The cherry on top? Not a single warm smile or ounce of holiday spirit to be found. Instead, I was met with an icy demeanor so cold it could freeze the Pacific. This isn’t just bad service—it’s an affront to everything Newport Beach represents. The area thrives on excellence, prestige, and a touch of charm, none of which can be found in this establishment.

Gold and Diamond Jewelers, you’re FIRED. Your dismissive attitude, inflated pricing, and complete disregard for customer care make it clear you don’t deserve a place in this community.
